3 Common Fitness Struggles

Ever since I lost a little over 18lbs, it has been a constant mind game for me. I was super excited after seeing and feeling the results of my weight loss. The strange thing about it though is, you would think that after being 18+lbs down that I would get after it and want more (which don't get me wrong, I totally do) I should make the constant effort in my fitness journey, but my reality is.. I got comfortable.

Here are 3 common struggles we all face In our fitness journey and how to overcome them.


1. Consistency and Motivation

One of the most important things I've learned in fitness and just in general is, It's NOT the end of the world if you miss a day. Just because you missed one workout or one meal prep doesn't mean that all the hard work you've put in, in the past year, month, or week is all gone because of one day.


That feeling you get from missing a day can either be the reason you go even harder or the reason you quit all together.


With that I believe the strength to be your OWN motivation comes into play. No one wants you to have amazing result more than you will. No one is going to feel what you feel when you push yourself on that final set. When your friend is too busy to go to the gym one day, what are you going to do? Not go because he/she can't go or are YOU going to get your ass up and go anyways?

2. Fear of Failure

So many of us expect to achieve our goals right away that we completely forget that it is a process and it takes work! Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain weight, tone up, or build muscle, IT TAKES WORK! So many of us throw in the towel because we're not seeing immediate results. You didn't gain the weight overnight and you're not going to lose it overnight. So learn to enjoy the journey, enjoy each rep, each set, and every drip of sweat that comes out of you.


It doesn't matter what everyone else is doing, this is YOUR journey.


If you don’t reach your goals, keep going and keep working your ass off to get there!



3. Eating

To be completely Honest, if you’re anything like me eating is the hardest part. Not because I don't enjoy an amazing meal, but because I have a really bad habit of skipping meals. Sometimes I choose eating junk food over a healthy meal and I end up feeling like crap afterwards.


Eating healthy is the biggest part of your journey. If you're not giving your body the proper nutrition it needs, it doesn't matter how many hours you spend in the gym.


Not knowing how to cook is NOT an excuse. If you can't cook, get your hands on a rice cooker with a steam tray and let it do the cooking for you! I make my lunch every day with just a rice cooker.


Work with what you have!


If "I don't know what to cook" is your excuse as to why you're not eating healthy, then guess what? Youtube and Pinterest is full of great ideas for healthy meals.


Eating healthy is NOT expensive, what IS expensive is paying the price in the future because you're not taking care of your health.


Remember a healthy lifestyle is 80% Nutrition!
